CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

The success of these services requires a reliable, well-documented and smooth-running platform.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an individual with experience in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure for containerised, event oriented systems and services. We don’t expect you to know everything about all of the technologies we use, as you’ll work with other professionals inside and outside the organisation to learn and develop your skills.
While we are based in Southwark, we have extensive working from home support and this position may require occasional travel across Europe.

AS AN INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER YOU WILL:

  • Work with the Infrastructure team to maintain our connected vehicle platform, infrastructure and services for our customers.

  • Help drive the evolution of our AWS environment.

  • Support our development team’s mission to deliver projects quickly and reliably into production.

  • Lend your expertise to other teams in the organisation across projects.

  • Work with other team members in an agile methodology (Developers, Operations, Data Scientists, Product Managers).

  • Deliver services from conception through to running and monitoring in production.

REQUIREMENTS:

​The following is required of each candidate:

  • Experience with AWS services and Well Architected best practices.

  • Good experience with Linux and container technologies (Docker, ECS...).

  • An understanding of Observability; Metrics, Logging, Distributed Tracing, Visualisation.

  • A strong grasp on Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Ansible).

  • Good knowledge of GitLab or GitHub.

  • Previous experience of Streaming services, event messaging systems (Kafka) and Elasticsearch advantageous.

  • Experience working alongside development teams, web services, scripting, Docker, CI/CD pipelines.

  • Knowledge of networking; firewalls (Palo Alto), WAF and load balancers.
